Dr. Harish Yalamanchili has written for various medical journals and his volunteer efforts have taken him to South America, Asia, and Africa. He lives in Laguna Niguel with his wife, son, and a Bichon-Poodle.
Dr. Yalamanchili believes that a surgeon should adopt the latest proven cutting-edge technology to help patients have minimal down-time and excellent outcomes. Serving as the vice-chair of Pomona Valley Hospital’s Surgery Department, he spearheaded the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Protocols. These were designed to assist patients in returning to their daily normal as fast as possible after surgery or procedures. He spends a minimum of two hours a day reading journals and medical articles to ensure that he is up to date on the newest publications. He attends national and international surgical conferences to bring the best techniques and advancements to his patients. He has performed several hospital-first surgeries at Pomona Valley Hospital. Demonstrating his innovative thinking, he has developed an improved method of treating severe venous disease and ulcers caused by perforator veins. He believes in caring for his patients as he would want someone to care for his own family.
Dr. Harish Yalamanchili comes from a family of physicians including both his parents and his sibling. Originally from Chicago, he moved to Los Angeles in 2016. He attended Purdue University where he started a premier volunteer organization that focused on improving targeted goals such as health safety for the homeless and access to textbooks for urban schools. For his efforts he received the Excellence in Service Award. Continuing with his efforts he received his Medical Degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed his general surgical residency training at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He underwent further training in robotic surgery and for treatment of venous disorders.
Dr. Yalamanchili is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, American Vein & Lymphatic Society. He has served on the Improving Wisely board of the American Vein & Lymphatic Society. He is the current vice-chair of the surgery department at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. Given his achievements, he was given the associate professorship at Western University Medical School and at PVHMC and teaches medical students and residents.
